Daivd is a 5* event rider with an incredibly consistent record

David’s eventing story began at the Avon Vale Pony Club as a regular on all of the teams up to championship level. As he moved through Juniors and Young Riders, he collected team Gold, Silver and Bronze, plus an individual Bronze, consistently demonstrating his horsemanship and determination.

In 2014, he stepped onto the Senior stage with his Nations Cup debut, and that same year he received the Goldman Cup for the best Under‑21 rider of the season.

David stepped up to 5* level in 2018 at Pau and has been a consistent performer at the sport’s highest level ever since. His partnership with Galileo Nieuwmoed is particularly special, together they’ve completed eight 5* events, finishing in the top 10 every time, including:

• 6th at Badminton 2022

• 4th at Pau 2022

• 2nd at Burghley 2023 (winning the Avebury Trophy for an outstanding cross country round

• 3rd at Maryland in 2024

• 9th at Pau in 2025

• 3rd at Kentucky in 2026

With a number of horses in his string now qualified for 5*, David heads into 2026 with one of the strongest strings of his career.
